Experts in ensuring homes are properly tested and ventilated.
PAS Ventilation has a wealth of experience. We are the ventilation company you can rely on for your ventilation requirements.
PAS Ventilation has a wealth of experience. We are the ventilation company you can rely on for your ventilation requirements.
At PAS Ventilation, we believe properties should be properly assessed to ensure healthy living conditions. After a thorough home assessment we produce in depth reports detailing the properties existing condition and suggested improvements.
We use the Pulse airtightness equipment to test properties air permeability, air changes and to analyse the levels of ventilation required in the property. This methodology is recognised under both Part L1A building Regulations and PAS 2035.
At PAS Ventilation, we are committed to ensuring our staff are fully qualified to carryout accurate assessments. We are accredited with Elmhurst airtightness scheme and our Assessors are registered with the Insulation Assurance Authority. We are also accredited with ECMK to carryout Domestic Energy Assessments, Retrofit Assessments and Retrofit Coordination.
This includes:
Identify ventilation/condensation/damp issues within the property
Arrange the installation of identified ventilation upgrades as required such as:
Window trickle vents
DMEV’s (extractor fans both continuous and intermittent)
PIV units (Positive Input Ventilation)
Purge ventilation - internal door undercuts
Purge Ventilation – ensure window openers function correctly
Test existing ventilation such as DMEV’s (extractor fans) as well as kitchen cooker hoods and any other mechanic ventilation already installed at the property, providing reports for these
Carry out PULSE air tightness and background ventilation tests. These tests are an air pressure testing methodology recognised under both Part L1A building regulations and PAS 2035 retrofit guidelines and tell us how airtight the property is and if ventilation in the property is adequate or needs to be upgraded
Complete a PAS Ventilation home occupiers house habits form and run through with tenant/homeowner to establish household habits aren’t causing issues within the property
Issue tenant/homeowner with a ventilation advice leaflet with signed declaration to state they have received and understood.
Produce a whole house ventilation/condensation/damp report for housing association/landlord/homeowner
Check existing cavity wall insulation performance, ensure that the installation has been installed correctly and identify any possible defects that could cause damp (poorly installed cavity wall insulation can cause cold thermal bridging that can cause condensation related damp/mould issues)
Thermal imaging camera survey to identify any cold spots that could be causing condensation/damp issues
Arrange for the cavity wall insulation to be extracted and re-filled using the correct material and installation techniques
Arrange for remedial works to be carried out before the installation of the new cavity wall insulation is installed such as debris/rubble in the cavity, cracks in the mortar, leaking/broken gutters and down pipes, new damp proof course etc
Check the loft insulation has been installed correctly in line with OFGEMs installation guidance
Arrange for loft insulation to be installed correctly (poorly installed lofts can cause cold thermal bridging that can cause condensation related damp/mould issues)
Domestic Energy Assessments. We can carryout an assessment and issue accurate EPC'S
Retrofit Assessments. We can carryout full Retrofit Assessments including Condition Reports, Ventilation Reports and Domestic Energy Reports.
Retrofit Coordination. We can project manage your retrofit projects conforming to PAS 2035 and lodge your jobs with Trustmark.
Technical Surveys. We can produce detailed technical reports for measures such as Cavity Wall Insulation, Under Floor Insulation, External and Internal Wall Insulation and Loft Insulation.
Background ventilation tests. Assessing if the current background ventilation within the property is adequate or needs upgrading. A whole house test and individual bedroom tests are carried out to establish if background ventilation such as trickle vents are needed or not and if existing intermittent extract fans are suitable or need to be upgraded to continuous mechanical extract ventilation.
Air permeability tests. These are a requirement for any pathway C project under PAS 2035. The test will establish a properties existing air permeability and will allow the Retrofit Coordinator to set targets based on the measures being installed making the project compliant.
